1. Editing Your Portfolio Page
  1. Create an portfolio page similar to the sample. sample portfolio .
(Any pictures used must be within your WEB1 folder.)
  2. Type out project descriptions.
  3. Save your default.htm into your primary network folder (i.e. 123456\default.htm)
  4. Link assignment files. (Highlight text, choose file.)
  5. Preview your work to make sure files link correctly.

NEVER, EVER, EVER move default.htm from your network drive 123456.

If you need to move your default.htm file:

  1. Open default.htm in Dreamweaver
  2. Choose File/Save As.and save it as a new default.htm in the desired folder.
  3. Click 'Yes' to update links.
  4. Verify you have the new default.htm in the correct folder.
  5. Delete the old default.htm in the old folder.

If you need to move pictures from My Pictures to your WEB1 folder:

  1. Move the pictures from My Pictures to WEB1
  2. Open Default.htm in Dreamweaver
  3. Relink you pictures
2. Transferring/Posting Files

Get the login and password from the teacher.


Go to (jdoe is your login)


To view this FTP site in Windows Explorer, click Page, and then click Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer.


Transfer the default.htm and associated folders and files. (You can just transfer your WEB1 folder.)


Check your site to make sure everything works the way it should, especially pictures and links.)

3. Updating Your Portfolio
  1. Make sure that all filenames and folders do not include spaces or multiple periods.
    (i.e. space name.htm)
  2. Edit your default.htm in Dreamweaver.
  3. Never, ever, ever move your default.htm from network drive 123456.
  4. Add your new assignment at the top of the portfolio. (Right-mouse click/Table/Insert Row to to add a row.)
  5. Link FolderLink the file by choosing the folder icon.
  6. Log into
  7. Transfer needed files from your student computer to the web server. (default.htm and any files or folders you have recently changed or added.)
  8. Make sure that you move the files from network drive 123456 into the same folders on the web server i.e. default.htm must be in the web server root folder -> Any files in network drive 123456/Web1 should be transfered to


  9. Check FHS Student Site to make sure it works.
